After World War 2 ended another war was aproaching called the Cold War, which was a war between America and Russia (the war had no fighting, but instead had both sides spying on each other). At the beginning of the late 1950s, space would become the new arena for this competition of America and Russia. The competition would prove which side was superior in technology, military firepower, and their countries political-economic system. The competition was known as "The Space Race".
